Adopting Elizabeth or better yet, Adopting Mommy!
I am adding to this post, not removing the original content. And I'd like to say that it has been a beautiful journey to be Elizabeth's Mom and to be part of her life. I hope Eli, that one day you can go over this blog that I've created for you and that you will cherish our lives together. I'd like to title this blog" Adopting Mommy" instead. You've taken me, accepted me and made me a better person.
Original Post from 2008 when I created this blog: Some of the pics were taken at the foster home where she has lived since she was born. We have received these photos on a monthly basis together with her medical reports.

Still trying to make it home / Tratando de llegar a casa
Yesterday morning we left the hotel in Guatemala City at 10:30am for a 1pm flight to Atlanta. The flight was fine and the baby did great. She slept most of the way and woke up right after we landed in Atlanta at around 6pm. Processing through immigration, however, took a long a time, almost two and a half hours. During this time, Eli made lots of new friends ... from Honduras, from Russia, from China, and Abbu Dabi. Our connecting flight was supposed to leave at 820pm and although it was delayed and left at 8:40 pm, we could not make it because only at that time we were seen by an immigration employee who did what he had to do for us in less than two minutes... Frustrating, very frustrating.
We changed our flight for this afternoon at 130pm and booked a hotel by the airport. We finally got to bed at midnight and are still at the hotel with no luggage. Fortunately for Elizabeth we have clean clothes, diapers and food.
Hopefully we can make it home today. The baby and I have been sneezing and coughing and I just want to get home!

Congratulations on making back on U.S. soil. When we returned from Vietnam, our bags were delayed 2 hours and we weren't allowed to go through immigration until we had them. Poor Keenan had raging diarrhea and we couldn't change his diapers fast enough. When we finally got to go through immigration, they put us in the wrong line and there went another hour. By that time I was nearly in tears.
We all got terribly sick in Vietnam and landed in the hospital. When you (and your children) are not feeling well "there is no place like home" really takes on a whole new meaning.
Congratulations on almost being home and congratulations on the beautiful addition to your family.

Elizabeth!!!!
Herzlich Willkommen!!!
Mil besos y bendiciones
p.s. ah!!! saludos a los ancianos padres tuyos!!
Portate bien y si me quieres haz algo....
