Adopting Elizabeth or better yet, Adopting Mommy!

I am adding to this post, not removing the original content. And I'd like to say that it has been a beautiful journey to be Elizabeth's Mom and to be part of her life. I hope Eli, that one day you can go over this blog that I've created for you and that you will cherish our lives together. I'd like to title this blog" Adopting Mommy" instead. You've taken me, accepted me and made me a better person.

Original Post from 2008 when I created this blog: Some of the pics were taken at the foster home where she has lived since she was born. We have received these photos on a monthly basis together with her medical reports.

Meeting Aunt Susan

Last week Elizabeth met aunt Susan for the first time. She lives in Charleston, SC and came to visit her family in Massachusetts so we made arrangements to meet her before she went back home. Jeff, Greg's brother, couldn't travel so Eli would have to wait a little bit longer to meet uncle Jeff.

These are some pics of that afternoon.

This is Greg's scar from his tree accident.

Favors I made for Eli's Baptism

Last year I took a pastry class at the French Pastry School in Chicago. With the techniques I learned there, plus from what I learned from my part time job at a nice pastry shop here in NH, I decided to be adventurous and make gum paste bouquets for the guests at the baptism. One per family I should clarify since the time and work making these bouquets is pretty significant.

I managed to complete the bouquets the night before the baptism. I worked hard for days but was very happy at how they came out. Eli helped a lot as you can imagine and I had to give her some playdo so she could make her own flowers.

And here are a few photos that will give you a glimpse of the entire process!

Nice present !

Here is Eli opening a present. It didn't matter that the shoes were big for her, she loved them and had them on until she went to bed that day.
