We left home early that morning and drove west towards Vermont. From there I drove south on the highway until we arrived in the borough of Queens. I was pretty nervious about going on a long trip like this without Greg, but to my surprise Eli behaved very well. When I started loading the car at home, I told her that we were going on a very long trip and that she would be in the car for many, many hours. I asked her to be patient and nice and she really was. During the trip I played her children CD's, we sang together, she slept, played with her toys, ate, we visited two rest areas and when I realized, we were already in Queens, trying to park the car in front of Adriana's building.
We stayed with Adriana, Katherine and Freddy for two nights and then we headed towards Brooklyn to spend the last evening with Hanna and Leslie. Hanna is expecting a baby boy and we are so happy and excited for them and I am already planning my trip back to the city for her delivery date.
Elizabeth had a wonderful time. It was her first time meeting everybody and they all were so nice with her.
We also met Nancy and Edilma on Friday and Matty at Hanna's place. Nancy went with us to the city by subway. We rode the subway from Queens to Times Square and from there we switched to a downtown train. This was such an experience for me. I now respect the mothers that ride subways and public transportation with their children. I could not handle my bag, Eli's bag, the stroller, the metro card, the electric stairs, etc, etc. I felt terrible, I felt out of control. Thank God Nancy help me a lot otherwise I couldn't have done it by myself.
Later that day (Halloween), we met Edilma back in Queens. She came from Long Island and it was so nice to see her again after a couple of years.
They all thought that Eli is a smart and cute girl and I'm very happy that they finally met our baby. I really hope that on my next trip to the city I can meet more of my friends and they all get to see her for the first time.
We left on Sunday afternoon and managed to arrive home not so late. Eli did very well on the return as well. We made two short stops and had no problems Thank God.
These are some of the pics from the trip. I have many, many more. But these are the chosen ones...
